Not only will your morality take center stage, but traditions will also play a significant role at this time of your life. The traditions in question will often reflect those that are held by your family and the society you’re a part of. The Hierophant could represent you with passing on or rejecting the status quo, so look to surrounding cards for clues on whether you will go along with the crowd or not.

Because of its association with traditional values and religion, The Hierophant can symbolize certain actions that come along with these. Marriages, baptisms, and visits to religious centers could be on the cards. You could be getting married or will attend a wedding (as always, the surrounding cards will give clues). The Hierophant is a classic marriage Tarot card.

Sometimes, the Hierophant can predict that you will visit a more experienced person for advice. Maybe an older relative or teacher has the answers you’re searching for? Don’t be too proud to ask for help if you’re in need. The Hierophant gladly offers their support.

In general, this card is associated with mercy and goodness. Forgiveness will be given. Even if you know others will turn against you, always do what’s morally right, even if this is not what seems easiest at the time: The Hierophant demands this much.

The Hierophant Love Tarot Meaning

Love & Relationships

For love Tarot readings that look encouraging, The Hierophant is a symbol of union. If you’re looking to marry your partner, receiving this card is a good sign. The catch, however, is that it can predict that you will need to adopt your partner’s way of doing things if they’re particularly traditional and culture-orientated.

If you’re already married, the Hierophant’s Tarot meaning can be a bit more sinister; usually, this means that you and your partner will have to visit a priest or relationship counselor to make your marriage work.

In a love Tarot reading that appears to be overly negative, this card can represent the involvement of someone else in your relationship. This person may be giving you or your partner advice that you should not be taking. The advisor doesn’t necessarily have bad intentions, but they don’t have the right knowledge or experience to be dishing out their opinions on your partnership.

The Hierophant Feelings Tarot Meaning

The Hierophant Love Tarot Meaning

Marriage is a common meaning for The Hierophant when it appears in your love Tarot reading.

As for the future or outcome meaning of The Hierophant Tarot card, The Hierophant predicts marriage. You will be getting married or attending a wedding in the very near future. Even if you don’t marry your current partner, The Hierophant is the reassurance that you will eventually find someone who makes a major commitment to you.

The Hierophant Future Tarot Meaning

As for the future or outcome meaning of The Hierophant Tarot card, The Hierophant predicts marriage. You will be getting married or attending a wedding in the very near future. Even if you do not marry your current partner, The Hierophant is the reassurance that you will find someone who makes a major commitment to you eventually.

The Hierophant Business & Career Tarot Meaning

If you’re performing a career or business reading, I have found that The Hierophant has two major meanings. The first is that it symbolizes advice.

The Hierophant, in this case, represents someone who has been through every situation possible. You can go to them and get solid tips and tricks for how you can make your company flourish. Sometimes, this can be in the form of coaching, but it can also be through courses, workshops, and seminars.

Alternatively, The Hierophant can advise you that you need to look to the past for inspiration. While many of the other cards recommend a fresh approach, this card wants you to play it safe. How can you bring the past into your business? Can you make vintage cool? Tradition may be the next big thing in your industry.

Finally, in work readings, The Hierophant predicts that you will get advice on how to further advance your career. However, something may happen in the future that requires you to forgive someone or take the moral high ground; if this is the case, you should do so, as this is what’s best for you.

Yes or No with The Hierophant Tarot Meaning

General – If you’re asking whether you should forgive someone or follow in someone else’s footsteps, The Hierophant is a yes. In most other situations, The Hierophant is neutral and recommends that you seek the advice of others.

The Hierophant Tarot card meaning for love, relationships, futures, romance, outcomes, exes, feelings, intentions, reconciliations, as a yes or no, marriage, pregnancies, positives, negatives, and more. Rider Waite Smith Tarot deck.

Do they like me? – Yes, they like you, especially if you have established values and love tradition.

Am I pregnant? – I would not interpret the Hierophant as a pregnancy card.

Is this relationship going to last? – Yes, and if you play your cards right, you might even get marriage out of this relationship!

Does the future of this look promising? – Yes, the future of this matter seems positive.

Am I going to reconcile with my ex? – Although it’s a good relationship card, I would not read The Hierophant as a card to indicate your ex-lover coming back or returning.

The Hierophant as a Negative, Weakness or Obstacle

Like all Tarot cards, there will be times The Hierophant can appear as a disadvantage in a Tarot spread. In this case, the card predicts the above points, but to an extreme – your love of tradition and doing the right thing will do you no favors in the future.

There’s also the possibility that although there are people in your life willing to give you advice, it doesn’t mean you should take it. Other people don’t always know what’s best for you – live your own life.

The Hierophant as a Positive, Strength or Advantage

The Hierophant will appear as a positive in a Tarot spread when your motives are sincere. When you’re coming from a good place, you can sleep soundly at night.

Also, as predicted earlier, The Hierophant will pop up as an advantage when you have people around you who are willing to help. Remember, if someone is going out of their way to give you a bit of direction, The Hierophant is telling you that you should listen.

Closing Thoughts on The Hierophant Tarot Card Meaning

Some people think that The Hierophant is a sinister card due to its association with the church and organized religions. However, for love and relationship readings, its meaning is a rather positive one. Seeing The Hierophant in your Tarot readings is not such a bad thing.

How do you feel about The Hierophant? Is it a card of marriage and commitment? Or, do you not view the card in such a good light? Feel free to share your thoughts and feelings in the comment section.
