Learning the Lenormand Card Meanings
Learning Lenormand should not be difficult, challenging or a pain in the ass. It is possible to master all 36 card interpretations quickly, especially if you are already well versed in another method of divination (which most would be Lenormand readers are). However, even though it will help experience with another type of fortune-telling isn’t essential; you can still kill it if you’re a newbie.
I do have some tips which will make your Lenormand journey easier. Follow these, and you’ll be sure to be reading Lenormand in no time!
Stay Away from Busy Decks
Lenormand is a very symbolic method of card reading. You’re trying to combine one symbol with another symbol; that’s the goal and that is how you are going to design your Lenormand meanings, interpretations and combinations.
If you have a deck which is too busy, it is hard to concentrate on the one symbol you’re trying to interpret. Stay away from decks which have a lot going on in one image. You’re not wanting a cat here, a bird there, a house over there on one card. Busy decks can get very confusing, very quick.
Instead, try to go for decks which are as minimal as possible. Minimal decks will not depict a scene, just the symbol. OR if they do depict a scene, the symbol you have to interpret is obvious. Purchase decks which just feature a woman on the lady card, not a woman eating ice cream, walking along the beach getting peaked alive by a crow, being followed by a dog.
Throw yourself into the Hot Seat
There will be divination teachers online who will tell you that you should be practicing a method of reading for months, even years, before you read other people with that system. In most cases, these people are full of shit.
One of the fastest ways you can learn, is to throw yourself into the hot seat. Even if you do not feel like you have mastered all of the cards properly, it is best to get experience performing real readings with a system ASAP. If you wait until you ‘feel ready’ you’ll never be ready. You have to jump in there before you’re comfortable.
Two days after I began learning Lenormand I performed a reading at a job interview for a psychic shop using the system. Was it hard? Yes, but honestly, it was the best thing I could have done. If I would have waited, I would have done what I did with Astrology (give up).
If you’re nervous about your first reading or so, offer to read people on matters which aren’t emotionally charged. Call your sister and say, ‘hey I am going to try this new system, I want to read you on how your day is going to go’. Practice, practice, practice, and you’ll be reading Lenormand cards in no time.
Watch Other Readers
Spying on how other readers read the cards and make combinations is probably your best bet when it comes to learning Lenormand.
When I first started reading Lenormand, I joined many Lenormand Facebook groups and watched how the readers interpreted different types of readings. I truly believe that this was one thing which helped me make sense of the meanings and how to properly put combinations together.
Having other people to watch really did assist in my Lenormand. Therefore, on Divination & Fortune-Telling’s social media platforms I often post practice readings which my followers can interpret. Doing this is good practice, not just for the participants but also for newbies who may just be lurking until they have the confidence to join in. We interpret Lenormand, dreams, Tarot, whatever! Take a Course
There is a lot to learning Lenormand. You don’t just have the interpretations to learn but also HOW to combine cards and other things such as houses, knighting, timing etc. It can all get a bit overwhelming, confusing and expensive if you’re buying books which turn out to be a waste of time (I once bought a Lenormand book and paid an additional £8 for delivery which turned out to be a piece of shit.)
If you’re a visual learner and wish to completely master Lenormand from start to finish, I have a Read Lenormand Course which will take you from finding the perfect deck to performing advanced techniques. AND you don’t need to worry about information overload; I give you the essential Lenormand reading info, no filler.
As with all methods of divination, it really is essential that you do not get discouraged and keep pushing towards your fortune-telling goals.
You might look at your favourite diviners in awe and wonder why they are so amazing, how they come up with such perfect interpretations, how their brains and intuition seems to work differently. The secret is, there are no secrets, they just keep going and never give up.
You may be tempted to put your Lenormand cards down and stop reading. You might get discouraged from a shitty reading, or think there are too many interpretations to learn. Trust me when I tell you: you can do this!
If you keep going, you will come out of the other side. If you master Lenormand you will be able to predict, with accuracy, the past, and the future in love, business, career, health, family and a total of 36 life areas. You will be able to knock your seeker’s socks off with your knowledge of their life in its entirety. Now, isn’t that worth pushing for?
Good luck in your Lenormand journey!
