In a Tarot card reading, The Eight of Pentacles in a spread can be a symbol of mastery and career. This post includes a vintage and modern fortune telling meanings of The 8 of Pentacles, ideal for the advanced reader or those just learning the cards. These interpretations can be used with any of the decks (Rider Waite, Marseilles etc). Cards used in post are from The Wild Unknown Tarot Deck.

I frequently see this card when seekers are making an attempt to leave the rat race for greener pastures. You can begin to sell your jewelry at craft fairs with dreams of making it a full time business. The 8 of Pentacles makes it very likely that your pastime is becoming your new career.

The 8 can show further career developments from just doing something. Often, the 8 of Pentacles represents teaching others how to do the things which come to you naturally. This Tarot card makes an appearance in readings where the once student becomes the teacher. Teaching can add another layer of income to your passion.

If the 8 of Pentacles appears as a negative, this can mean that you’re dictatorial in the way you do things. You find it hard to take direction from others and think you always know best. Try not to brag too much about how your way is better; you may be an expert but that doesn’t mean you know everything.

The 8 of Pentacle’s Historical Meaning

In times now past this card was associated with dark haired females. As stated above, ancient interpretations also advise modesty; you may be at the top of your game now but try to make sure your head does not explode with the compliments you receive. Remember, there is always more to learn.

The Eight of Pentacles in a Love Reading

If you are interested in woman and single then the 8 of Pentacles is a good sign; it shows that a dark haired female has (or will have) feelings for you. This may not be someone you have met yet, but they will come into your life very soon.

Other than that, I would not read the 8 of Pentacles as a good card for most love readings because the card is rather silent on matters related to relationships. It may just mean that it is not yet time to read on this issues so I would wait until events unfold and then read your situation again.

If you're finding that all of the cards you have pulled for your love spread do not make sense, it could be that you're not using the correct Tarot layout for the job. The Eight of Pentacles in a Business Reading

As stated in the general card interpretation, the 8 of Pentacles is a very good card to get for career and business matters. It shows that you will become an authority in your field, especially if this card appears in an outcome position. You will make enough money to sustain your lifestyle.

I will advise, if you haven’t already considered going into teaching your craft you really should. Teaching is a great way to make more money, expand your reach and get your name out there. The cards urge you to show others what you’ve got and share what you know.

The Eight of Pentacles as a Yes or No
