Seven of Pentacles: Predictive Tarot Card Meaning

Planning, Money, Enterprise, Persistence, The Long-Term, Success but Hard Work, Education, Planting the Seed

The 7 of Pentacles is the card of growth. With this card you can be assured that the plans you are making for the future will eventually pay off; all that is required is persistence, elbow grease and a little bit of faith.

At its heart, the 7 of Pentacles is an educational card and often makes an appearance during times of study. You may be making plans to go back to collage or to further your education with an online course. If you do have your heart set on learning something new the 7 of Pentacles is a little cosmic nudge in that direction (because its gonna pay off!)

In a Tarot card reading, The Seven of Pentacles in a spread can be a symbol of planning and money. This post includes a vintage and modern fortune telling meanings of The 7 of Pentacles, ideal for the advanced reader or those just learning the cards. These interpretations can be used with any of the decks (Rider Waite, Marseilles etc). Cards used in post are from The Dame Darcy’s Mermaid Tarot.

In general, the 7 of Pentacles is telling you that the investments you are making now will pay off in the future. With this card you can expect an increase in your property value, growth of your business and maturity of your stocks and shares. Don’t worry it your plans are going to be monetary successful; they will be.

Sometimes this card marks a time when you just need to stop and assess where you are going with life. Are you getting all you want from your career? Is your partner the one for you long term? The decisions you make with this assessment will be relevant to your future, so you better get thinking about it!

The Seven of Pentacle’s Historical Meaning

Historically the 7 of Pentacles (Coins) has always been a good card symbolizing gains, profits, money, treasure, valuables and being in a desirable financial position.

The Seven of Pentacles in a Love Reading

I would say that the 7 of Pentacles is a rather good card to get for a love reading depending on how willing you are to wait! With the 7 of Pentacles your relationship will not progress quickly; you’re with someone who wants to do things the ‘right’ way and take it slow. While this is perfectly fine, you may have to nudge them in the right direction every now and then.

Obviously the long-term waiting factor of the 7 of Pentacles means that you’re going to have to decide if you’re wanting to play that game. If, for whatever reason, there is a time limit of different milestones you want to hit with a future mate, then this individual may not be for you.

If you’re curious about the feelings of a potential partner, the 7 of Pentacles in a Tarot reading may get stronger and more romantic over time.

However, although the prospects are good nothing is guaranteed so you have to ask yourself if you’re willing to wait for them to love you back. If you're waiting for your lover to come back or want to know about a past lover, I have spreads for these issues in my Love Tarot Spreads e-book.

The Seven of Pentacles in a Business Reading

The 7 of Pentacles is rather good for business readings as it usually reflects profitability. However, I should warn that this is not going to happen overnight. Your business has thepotential to be more rewarding than you could ever imagine, but it is not going to be an overnight success. Are you will to wait for it? Or do you want to see less results but faster with something else? Its your call.
