  In a Tarot card reading, The Six of Wands in a spread can be a symbol of winning and recognition. This post includes vintage and modern fortune telling meanings of the 6 of Wands, ideal for the advanced reader or those just learning the cards. These interpretations can be used with any of the decks (Rider Waite, Marseilles etc.) Cards used in this post are from The Wooden Tarot deck.

There is a possibility that you will be looked up to as an authority. As a result of your new found notoriety, you could find yourself somewhat of a celebrity in your local area or subject of expertise. I would also expect to see the 6 of Wands in someone with a largish or growing social media following.

Many people can get recognition in their careers but they are not rewarded financially; for you, this will not be the case. You can expect to have a financial increase along with a well deserved inflated ego.

If it appears in an outcome or future position, the 6 of Wands promises that you will get what you deserve in the end. If you keep working hard and are persistent in what you’re pursuing, then your efforts will eventually pay off.

There will be times when the 6 of Wands appears in a spread as a negative or set back. If this is the case, then it means that you’re letting pride get in the way of your happiness. You cannot admit when you’re wrong and do not like the thought of others knowing more about a subject than you do. Your ego could eventually be your downfall.

There is also the possibility that your arrogance turns people off. You can come across as a showy know-it-all. Being this way is affecting your relationships, so be mindful to keep it in check if this is what the 6 of Wands symbolizes for you.

The Six of Wand’s Historical Meaning

Just as it is today, the 6 of Wands has always been a rather jolly card to received in your Tarot reading. However, previously the interpretation was more-so on the attempt of something great. The 6 of Wands represented the expectation that you’ll be able to pull your plans off.

The first step in achieving amazing things is believing in yourself. Next, you need to try. If you do these two things you have a much better chance in bringing home the trophy than the person sitting dreaming about doing and never taking that leap. Therefore, the 6 of Wands not only predicts success but advises that you believe in yourself enough to attempt it in the first place.

The Six of Wands in a Love Reading

I am inclined to not read the 6 of Wands well for most types of relationship questions. The card doesn’t particularly symbolize things related to love. In fact, if anything the 6 of Wands is a egotistical card which represents one person doing well for themselves. It is not a card of teamwork as a relationship should be and, therefore, I do not view it positively no matter what position it is in.

If you are asking your Tarot cards what someone’s feelings as towards you and a 6 of Wands comes up this is not a good sign. It means that they are the type of person who views others as mere conquests, not long-term partners. There is also the possibility that this individual feels as though they can do better than you. Your partner's intentions is something I have spreads for in The Love Tarot Spreads e-book.

The only time I would read the 6 of Wands well in a love reading, is if you are involved in a love affair. The 6 of Wands predicts that, ultimately, you will be the person which your partner chooses to be with eventually.

The Six of Wands in a Business Reading

Unlike in a love Tarot reading, the 6 of Wands is a very positive card to receive. It is pretty obvious that it is a card of recognition for your efforts.

The effort which you have put in will be seen by those around you. You could be regarded as an industry expert in your field. Your achievements will be congratulated publically by people of importance. You may host an event. Or you will win an award, receive a medal or receive some other prize which cements your reputation.

As stated in the main write up, try not to let your increased influence go to your head. Make sure that people see you are a worthy leader who they can look up to instead of an overrated tyrant.

The Six of Wands as a Yes or No

For most types of readings, the 6 of Wands is a yes. However, in Tarot readings involving love, romance and relationships, the 6 of Wands is neutral.

The Six of Wands as a Positive

In a positive reading or spread position, the 6 of Wands predicts;

- You will accomplish your goals

- You will receive recognition

- You will be successful

- Your hard work will pay off

- You will be rewarded emotionally and financially

The Six of Wands as a Negative

In a more negative reading or spread position, the 6 of Wands predicts;

- Your success will go to your head

- You think you know better than everyone else

- You’re not willing to work with or learn from others

- You come across as arrogant

- You cannot admit when you are wrong
