Future Tarot Meanings: Five of Wands

The meaning of the Five of Wands Tarot card is that it symbolizes competitions. When the Five of Wands card rears its head, you can confidently predict that you’re about to engage in competition with a rival at some point in the future.

Sometimes, this card can predict friendly competitiveness; the guys down at the bar with their eyes on the same girl, the football teams, the co-workers after the same promotion will appear as the Five of Wands. The Five of Wands is a brilliant card for those involved in competitive sports. The Five of Wands embodies the energy of sportsmanship.

Other times, battles may not be so fun. Based on surrounding cards in your spread, you can tell the tone of this competitiveness.

The Five of Wands speaks of the strife but not the overall results. With this tension comes an opportunity for you to prove yourself. When the push comes to shove, are you about to sink or swim?

The Five of Wands often warns of conflict which may not appear so dangerous at the time. However, jealousy can soon turn ugly. If you’re the victim of someone else’s envy, this is good; it means you’re doing something right. However, if you’re the one hating on others, this could spell trouble if you’re not channeling your emotions correctly.

There will be times when the conflict of the Five of Wands is imaginary, not real. It can appear at times when you’re too busy watching what other people are doing instead of getting to work in building your own empire. If this sounds like you, use your jealousy as a compass, which highlights the things you want and go from there.

Five of Wands Love Tarot Meaning

The Five of Wands usually makes an appearance in love Tarot readings where the object of your affection is unsure of their feelings. There could be another interest (or another person) in the picture competing for their affections. Therefore, be wary of this in the future.

The Five of Wands does not say if you will end up with your love interest or not; its meaning is elusive. Basically, the cards are predicting that you will have to fight for your partner's affection either now or in the future. However, your cards cannot reveal for now if your efforts will ultimately pay off. Therefore, I recommend you wait until you have more information and then read on this matter again in the future.

Five of Wands Feelings Tarot Meaning

When it appears as a feeling, the Five of Wands has a couple of meanings. Sometimes, the Five of Wands can mean that the person whom you are reading about has their eye on someone else. Another person is fighting for your potential lover’s affection. Your lover is having a hard time choosing who they want to be with long-term.

In relationships that are already well-established, the Five of Wands can mean that your partner feels that they are fighting for your attention. Your lover does not feel that you are giving them all that they deserve.

Five of Wands Future Tarot Meaning

When the Five of Wands appears in a future or outcome position of a Tarot spread, this means that you are going to have to compete in the future. You could be competing for your lover’s affection or competing in a sports contest. Either way, the best man will win.

It can be pretty frustrating when the Five of Wands appears in a future or outcome position because the ending will not be revealed, only the struggle. You’re not going to be told the results of the battle as, for now, only the journey is written.

Five of Wands Business & Career Tarot Meaning

In a career Tarot reading, the Five of Wands speaks of your competition. If you think that you have a cutting edge idea which no one can compete with, you’re wrong. You have competitors who are worthy opponents. You will have to spend some time hustling and doing some market research to figure out how you can outsmart others in your industry.

It is rewarding to have friends in the same business as you. However, the Five of Wands is a warning to remember that they are still your competition; you might see them as alleys, but that doesn’t mean they see you the same way. Keep your mouth shut, and do not be spilling any of your company secrets.

Does the future of this look promising? - The future of this matter looks challenging.

Am I going to reconcile with my ex? - If you're wondering whether your ex is coming back or not, the Five of Wands can serve as a warning that getting them to return will require effort on your part. Five of Wands as a Negative, Weakness or Blockage

When the Five of Wands appears in a negative, weakness, or obstacle Tarot spread position, this means that you are going to have to fight for attention, affection, or notoriety. You might start to feel a little envious and jealous of other people. You will be worried that you are not worthy of the thing you are striving to obtain.

In some cases, the Five of Wands will pop up as a negative if you feel that you are trapped in conflict. Because of a negative environment, you will begin to second guess yourself. You do not know whether all of the efforts which you’re putting in is going to pay off, and this makes a successful conclusion for this matter much less certain.

Finally, the Five of Wands will land in a bad Tarot spread position when the people you are working with are not team players - this is especially true if you are involved in hobbies or competitive sports.

Five of Wands as a Positive, Strength or Advantage

When the Five of Wands appears in a positive, strength or advantage Tarot spread position, this means that an exiting new challenge is on the horizon. This is going to be your chance to show your skills.

In some cases, the Five of Wands will appear as an advantage if the atmosphere of competition is working in your favor. If someone feels as though they have to work hard for you, they are not going to be as keen on taking you for granted.

Finally, the Five of Wands will appear as a strength when the competition is friendly, and sportsmanship is at an all-time high. The Five of Wands is a welcome card when you are involved in a competitive past-time because it means that your hobby is going to remain interesting.
