Tips For Learning Tarot

Do you want to learn how to read Tarot? Are you looking for some Tarot reading tips from people who have successfully learned how to read Tarot cards?

If so, you’re in the right place!

Myself and nine of my Tarot students are going to share with you our top tips for learning Tarot. I asked both my advanced and beginner students, “What is the number one thing that made the difference to your Tarot journey?” Here were their responses:

“Even though I’ve been highly intuitive since childhood, I fell into the old pattern of not trusting myself reading for others. A friend did a reading for me and as a clarification card, I was blessed by The Fool confirming that all I really needed to do was to take that leap of faith & get started. That touched me deeply & when I’m feeling a bit shakey, I just recall that moment & am able to move forward with ease & grace. My advice would be to let the cards speak through you giving unfettered permission to your intuitive gift.” – Susan, Queen of Swords

“I found Lisa’s guides invaluable in boosting my knowledge of the cards and giving me confidence in reading for others.” – Cambiel

“The number one thing that made a difference in my Tarot journey was actually learning the card meanings. Once I understood the meanings, then I was able to play with different spreads. There are a handful of spreads that I use during almost every session with my clients. Before completely learning the cards, I would strictly use my intuitive abilities. Now it’s nice to have reassurance with cards because I understood their meanings and how to use them properly. When the cards confirm what I’m already receiving, it helps increase my confidence. Tarot is by far very complex, and I’m constantly open to learning more. Lisa has been a wonderful teacher and does not hold back. I really appreciate that about her!” – Psychic Medium Jen Stumpf, Glow Spiritual Healing

“I was already adept at reading playing cards, runes and palms before I began to read tarot cards. I worked at psychic fairs. As tarot cards were popular I expanded into Ryder Waite tarot, and my clientele expanded as a result. I also read Crowley Thoth tarot cards. Recently, after a very long period of doing very little reading, I learned how to see by crystal gazing, and with that, I found I lost the ability to read Tarot! Lisa Boswell’s tarot courses has not only helped me to recover this skill, it has expanded my tarot vision and range of skills. I plan to read professionally once the restrictions imposed by the pandemic have been lifted.” – Nicholas Woodhead

“I didn’t know how I was going to memorize all 78 cards, but then someone told me to start by just making up a story about the picture on the card – that was a gamechanger for me and as I told the story, my intuition was allowed to come through to read the other person.” – Ash-Lee Jeanne, Moon Zoul Magic

“Listen to your intuition… to that still small voice or your sense of knowing from Spirit. I always get a cold shiver (goose flesh) when I make a leap in interpretation to confirm its accuracy. I do so in the form of a question. Here is an excellent example. I was reading for a nervous college student. I could sense the reading was VERY important to her. Out of the blue, I heard, “she’s pregnant.” When I asked her, “by the way, are you pregnant?” I received a confirming shiver. Her response was, “Please don’t tell my mother.” Enough said!!!!” – Su Terry

“Having read tarot for myself since the age of 18, the experience I needed was the chance to read for others without judgement or ridicule. I gained this confidence through completing tarot courses and reading and realising I had the skills, I just needed the confidence. Once I started by doing one reading, It just snowballed. Now I have requests weekly to read for others.” – Elaine Murphy, Blue Butterfly

“The use of my intuition really helped” – Victoria

“Personally, I feel that the number one thing that makes a difference in your Tarot journey is your confidence. As someone who teaches divination full-time at all levels, I see how the mind can play all sorts of tricks on readers. Confidence can really impact you as you develop from newbie to reading others, to reading others to working professionally, from working professionally to teaching, and so on. Once you work on your mindset and gain confidence everything becomes so much easier.” – Lisa Boswell, creator of this website.
