In a Tarot card reading, The Ace of Pentacles in a spread can be a symbol of foundation, money and happiness. This post includes a vintage and modern fortune telling meanings of The Ace of Pentacles, ideal for the advanced reader or those just learning the cards. These interpretations can be used with any of the decks (Rider Waite, Marseilles etc). Cards used in post is The World from Dame Darcy’s Mermaid Tarot deck.

The Ace of Pentacles signals the first rewards for hard work which you have previously put in. That first pay check or first business clients can be expected. The Ace doesn’t promise huge sums of money, but it does promise the initial signs of progress.

As the card’s interpretation speaks of luck, you can expect to get some of your own. Perhaps your windfall will not come from hard work but from winnings and gabbles; if you play the lottery, then there is the possibility that you will win it. Surrounding cards can give clues to the nature of your new found prosperity.

Sometimes, the Ace of Pentacles is nothing more than a foundational card. It means that you have the foundation to build great things upon, if you wish. This is good in the sense that all strong structures need a firm base. However, there are negative faces to the Ace of Pentacles.

Just like other Tarot Aces, the Ace of Pentacles shows the beginner stages. It promises that there is potential there, but you have to work out how to move past the initial stages. You can’t just take the first rewards and then stop, you have to keep going along in your journey; and if you will or not is yet to be revealed.

The Ace of Pentacles’ Historical Meaning

Historically, the Ace of Pentacles (previously called Coins) was considered by readers one of the best Tarot cards you could receive. In fact, this interpretation is still apparent in the Etteilla Ace of Coins meaning. In this system, the Ace of Pentacles predicts, not just extreme happiness but gold, triumph and success.

The Ace of Pentacles in a Love Reading

The Ace of Pentacles is a funny card for love; it can be good or it can be brutal. Really what the card’s meaning is for the future of a relationship is really dependent of the tone of your Tarot reading.

If you’re wondering what a potential partner is feeling about you, then this is a good card to get. When they think of you, they get nothing but happy thoughts. If they’re not calling you as often as you like, the Ace of Pentacles means that they have no ill intentions; they’re probably just caught up in their work or business.

In some cases, (and in positive looking readings) the Ace of Pentacles can represent an engagement ring and some Tarot readers do read it that way. So, if your relationship is well established and everything is going well, the Ace of Pentacles is an encouraging sign.

If the Ace appears in the present of a love reading this is a good sign. However, the relationship doesn’t appear to be going anywhere and the Ace of Pentacles appears in the future it can represent a lack of progression from the initial ‘foundational’ stages of your relationship.

Aces usually represent the beginner stages of something. They’re for the beginning, not for when something is supposed to be well established. Therefore, to see one in the future or outcome of a love reading means that your relationship will never move past this point. The relationship might have potential but that doesn’t mean anything will come to fruition.

The Ace of Pentacles in a Business Reading

From experience, I have found that the Ace of Pentacles is an amazing Tarot card to receive for business, especially if you’re just starting one.

Because The Ace of Pentacles is a foundation card, it should that are realistic about what needs to be done when it comes to starting a business. You aren’t going to jump right into it, you’re going in with a clear business mind and are, therefore, more likely to make it a success.

The Ace of Pentacles also means that you are going to see an investment quite quickly from your business. You will have cash in your hand in short notice and you business will not initially bleed money.

If you are already an established business the Ace of Pentacles can mean that you will do okay but not grow at the rate you like; if this is the case you should get outside help from a mentor or coach. Alternatively, the Ace can just predict a time when you launch a new product or service (which, by the way, will more than likely be profitable).

In a negative reading, the Ace of Pentacles can warn that your friends and family will initially buy stuff in order to support you in your business. However, eventually, this charity can dry up so you’ll need to find something more sustainable.
