Future Tarot Meanings - Ten of Swords

The main meaning of the Ten of Swords is that it predicts disaster. It is a card of destruction. All is lost in a situation once the Ten of Swords makes an appearance. In fact, many Tarot readers (including myself) read it as the worst card in the pack. Conflicts, drama and emotional pain will all reach their next stage or conclusion.

When the Ten of Swords appears in your reading, relationships end in the most terrible and cruel way. You can expect to be stripped of your confidence after the fact. In fact, the Ten of Swords often pops up to represent abusive relationships.

When it comes to business, career and finance all is also lost. Poverty, bankruptcy, home repossession, and the loss of a career are all common interpretations for the Ten of Swords. Once the dust settles, you must begin a new.

In many cases the Ten of Swords can also represent ill health. The reason for this is because the card is associated with agony and pain; your anguish may be physical as well as emotional. Time spent in prison is a common interpretation of the Ten of Swords, especially if combined with The Tower. Depression and grief are common themes.

If the Ten of Swords lands in an outcome or future position of a Tarot spread, additional cards should be pulled to show you how you can begin to rebuild your life.

For the majority of love readings, the Ten of Swords is a very negative outcome, especially if it appears in the future. The Ten of Swords is a sign that you should abandoned the relationship and move on with your life because the road you’re on will bring you nothing but misery and depressive feelings. There are better things (and people) out there for you, you should go out and find them.

If you want to know if your ex lover is come back, the Ten of Swords can mean two things; either no they're not coming back or they will, but nothing good will come of it. The relationship doesn't have a future.

Ten of Swords Feelings Tarot Meaning

Your lover is feeling as though they want to end the relationship because nothing positive is coming from it. They do not see a bright future for this partnership. Perhaps they do not feel as though you are compatible.

If you’re reading on a potential partner’s feelings, the Ten of Swords can mean that they are not focused on a relationship right now. Other parts of their life are going badly and they do not have the time and energy for you.

Ten of Swords Future Tarot Meaning

This relationship does not have a positive future. Nothing good will come from this situation. As harsh as this sounds, the prospects of this partnership are non-existent.

If you pursue a relationship with this person you are just going to get hurt. In fact, I would go as far to say that this is going to be one of the hardest break-ups you will ever experience. This break-up will be soul destroying. If you’re not already in a partnership with this person, you’re best to avoid it for the sake of your future self.

Ten of Swords Business & Career Tarot Meaning

Like in other types of readings, the Ten of Swords predicts a terrible outcome for business and career readings. Your business, product or plan will not be successful and will eventually run into serious problems. With the Ten of Swords card there is nothing more to say other than it is time for you to get back to the drawing board and think up a different idea entirely.

Ten of Swords as a Positive, Strength or Advantage

The Ten of Swords is rarely positive. They say, however, that even in the darkest of circumstances there is still hope for a better tomorrow. In the Rider Waite Smith design of the card, the sun rises in the distance to begin another day. If the Ten of Swords is rock bottom then the only way is up from there.

Ten of Swords as a Negative, Weakness or Blockage

The Ten of Swords will land as a negative, weakness, or blockage if you have already experienced a ‘Ten of Swords’ moment in your life and allow that to hold you back. You find it hard to get over betrayals. The Ten of Swords as a negative serves as a warning that you should not allow your past to dictate your future.
