Future Tarot Meanings: Two of Pentacles

The primary Two of Pentacles’ meaning is that it is a card of management, in particular of money, time, and resources. Unfortunately, unlike most of the other cards in the Pentacles (Coins) suit, the Two often has a rather negative meaning.

The Two of Pentacles often marks a time of financial difficulty. Money going in will equal money going out. It will be a delicate balance, so if you have not done so, it is best to sort out your finances now before the trouble strikes. You will have many bills to pay, which will ultimately get on top of you.

If money is not an issue, the Two of Pentacles can mean that you are spending your other resources (such as time) in the wrong places. You are giving too much attention to short-term things that have no long-term value in your life. You need to reassess your priorities before the universe sends you a divine wake up call.

Although this above Tarot card meaning sounds negative, there are positives to the Two of Pentacles. Firstly, your financial state will not be as bad as it will with some of the other cards, and there is the impression that any difficulty will only be temporary. Secondly, a period of reflection and careful management is a golden opportunity to set up something more stable in the future. In the end, you will learn strategies and techniques which will serve you for the long-term.

Two of Pentacles Love Tarot Meaning

The Two of Pentacles is pretty straight forward in a love or relationship Tarot reading. Typically, it means that you and your lover are not devoting enough care and attention to each other. There is a period when you are too wrapped in up work or other commitments and have not taken the time to care for each others needs. In some cases, the Two of Pentacles can symbolize cheating and infidelity.

If you’re reading Tarot about someone you desire (but are not dating), the Two of Pentacles can serve as a warning that they are not going to be as focused on you as you would like. Your potential lover has other life commitments, which they will view as just as important as your relationship (not good news if you like to be the center of attention!)

Two of Pentacles Feelings Tarot Meaning

Again, for potential lovers, the Two of Pentacles in a Tarot card reading means that they are just not focused on you. They have other commitments and worries which need to be tended to and cannot give you the attention you want. If you’re the type of person who likes to be the center of your partner’s universe, it doesn’t look like you are going to get this type of love affair with the individual you’re interested in.

Are you already in a relationship with this person? If yes, then my advice is that you allow them to do their own thing and deal with what they have to deal with just now (whether that is work or family commitments). You do not want to force them into a corner.

Two of Pentacles Future Tarot Meaning

When the Two of Pentacles appears in future or outcome positions, this can predict that there will be a period where you will have to balance your time, money, family and/or romantic relationships. You will feel as though you have to juggle different aspects of your life. You must get past this situation before you can move on to the next stage of this matter.

Two of Pentacles Business & Career Tarot Meaning

In a business or career Tarot reading, the Two of Pentacles can mean a couple of things. Most commonly, the Two of Pentacles means that you’re not devoting the time you need to tasks, which will directly bring you in money. You take the easy way out by convincing yourself you’re actually getting work done when, in reality, you’re just procrastinating. You need to commit yourself to do the things which aren’t fun and easy because, ultimately, the difficult tasks bring home the bacon.

Alternatively, the Two of Pentacles can symbolize your finances. You will fall into financial difficulty. Do not sign up for too many subscriptions just because you think you want them. Keep a tight leash on your wallet.

Two of Pentacles Yes or No

General - The Two of Pentacles is usually not a straight yes or no, it often means “no, not just yet.” Perhaps the time is wrong, and you should be devoting your attention to other things.

Do they like me? - If you're struggling to read on your lover's intentions or feelings, the Two of Pentacles can mean that they haven't made up their mind yet.

Am I pregnant? - For pregnancy, I read the Two of Pentacles as the body deciding whether or not it is going to be pregnant. Therefore, it is not a certain yes or no - read on the matter again next week.

Is this relationship going to last? - There is a chance that this relationship will last and result in something like marriage, but only if you and your lover can successfully balance different parts of your life.

Does the future of this look promising? - According to your Tarot cards, the future may be promising if you can get through the initial balancing act.

Am I going to reconcile with my ex? - Due to other commitments and stresses, reconciliation will not happen in the near future, but it may in the more distant future.

Two of Pentacles as a Negative, Weakness or Obstacle

When it appears in a Tarot spread as a negative, weakness, or obstacle, the Two of Pentacles can predict a delicate balancing act that requires you to manage your money, time, or resources carefully. This will not be easy.

The Two of Pentacles can mean that you (or your lover in relationship readings) will have no extra money to spend on non-essentials. Alternatively, when money is not an issue, the Two of Pentacles can symbolize someone who has to be all work, no play.

Two of Pentacles as a Positive, Strength or Advantage

When it appears in a Tarot spread as a positive, strength or advantage, the Two of Pentacles can predict that financial, your situation could be a lot worse. You can manage your finances and, if you’re smart about it, you will keep your head above water.

Being in the situation you’re in (whether you’re juggling time, money, or relationships) is causing you to take a closer look at your life. The balancing act you’re learning now will serve you well in the future. Just now, all is as it is meant to be.
