Future Tarot Meanings: Ace of Cups

The Ace of Cups is the Tarot card meaning love - it predicts pure and innocent love. The Ace of Cups card will make an appearance at the beginning of a relationship. Therefore, it should come as no surprise if your romantic life is of interest to you.

There is no denying the fact that a Cup is symbolic of the ‘mother bowl,’ i.e., the womb. In some cases, the Ace of Cups will represent childbirth and pregnancy. As this card is rather feminine, the childbirth you may experience will be of a female child (which is in contrast to the Ace of Wands, which is traditionally associated with the birth of a male).

Obviously, the Ace of Cups is a rather positive card and is often read in a good light. However, there will be times when the card appears as a negative: in this situation, it means that you will get a new beginning, but it will be after a traumatic ending.

Because The Ace of Cups is a card of beginnings, it is not always a desirable card to receive, especially if it appears as a challenge, negative, or obstacle. Cards of beginnings imply endings. Therefore, if the Ace of Cups appears in an outcome position, it can mean that the thing you are reading on will not last long-term or will never progress to the next stage.

Finally, historically (pre-Rider Waite-Smith), the Ace of Cups symbolized food and drink. Therefore, the Ace of Cups can predict that you will be spending a lot of time going for dinner with friends and loved loves.

The Ace of Cups is generally a good card to get for love Tarot readings, especially if you are in the early stages. The Ace of Cups appears as a sign of hope that you’re feelings are valid, and there is something there to work with.

The relationship is in the initial stages of love. The relationship has the potential to blossom further, but do not try to rush things by placing too much pressure on them at this crucial stage: let the partnership grow in its own time.

If you’re already in a serious partnership, sometimes the Ace of Cups can represent the birth of a child, usually a female. Therefore, if this is something you want, the Ace is a positive sign.

Ace of Cups Feelings Tarot Meaning

Do you want to know what someone’s intentions are towards you? Don’t worry; the Ace is a sign that their motives are pure. The special person who is in your life is in the primary stages of love.

However, keep in mind that your lover is not yet head over heals. It is still early days, so do not put too much pressure on your lover. Keep it light and carefree - your partner will become infatuated with you in their own time.

Ace of Cups Future Tarot Meaning

In some types of Tarot readings, the Ace of Cups can predict a pregnancy, especially if it appears in the future position of a Tarot card reading. The Ace of Cups could represent your baby or the child of a friend or family member.

The Ace of Cups can also appear in the future of a Tarot reading to indicate the start of a new, loving relationship. If you are currently single and desire a new relationship, the Ace of Cups is a very positive omen.

In some cases, the Ace of Cups is not always a good card to get in an outcome position of a Tarot reading. The Ace of Cups in a future position can mean that a relationship or even a project never quite gets off the ground. You may get stuck in the beginner stages and not grow past that. So, while you should not put too much pressure on your lover, do not allow them to drag their feet either.

Ace of Cups Business & Career Tarot Meaning

I read the Ace of Cups in a business or career Tarot reading two ways. On the one hand, I go with the modern interpretation of love in its early stages. The Ace of Cups simply means that you’re in love with your new project and that it means a lot to you.

Because the Ace of Cups is a card of love, feelings, and beginnings, I would be inclined to read it negatively for the finances of a business in a Tarot reading. While you will love what you do long term, the Ace warns that love is all there is, and you may not get the financial rewards from this venture.

Alternatively, the Ace of Cups can mean that you should seek business or work opportunities in the food and drink sector (an interpretation which is a nod to the card’s pre Rider Waite Smith meaning). Make sure you are getting out into the world, mingling with clients and letting them see your face and know your personality. The Ace of Cups is advising you that you should try to come across as a trusted ally, not as a stiff business person.

Ace of Cups Yes or No Tarot Meaning

General - The Ace of Cups is a yes, especially for love and relationship Tarot readings.

Do they like me? - Yes, this person loves you.

Am I pregnant? - Some Tarot readers believe that the Ace of Cups is a pregnancy card that represents the birth of a girl (while the Ace of Wands predicts the birth of a boy).

Is this relationship going to last? - Yes, this relationship is going to last for the foreseeable future, but that is not to say that it will definitely result in marriage.

Does the future of this look promising? - Yes, it seems that your love for this matter/person will last well into the future.

Am I going to reconcile with my ex? - The Ace of Cups is a Tarot card that represents a new relationship. However, if you and your ex have had a considerable amount of space and time apart, the Ace of Cups can indicate that your ex will return.

Ace of Cups as a Negative, Weakness or Obstacle

When the Ace of Cups appears in a negative, weakness, or obstacle Tarot spread position, this means that you may fall pregnant with a girl when you really wanted to have a boy! The Ace of Cups can also represent a pregnancy that you do not want.

When it appears as an obstacle, the Ace of Cups can indicate that although you will be passionate about your projects, you will not make much money from them. Finally, the Ace of Cups can (in negative Tarot spread positions) mark a lack of progress in relationships.

Ace of Cups as a Positive, Strength or Advantage

When the Ace of Cups appears in a positive, strength or advantage Tarot spread position, this means that you are going to begin a new relationship. You can expect to have a new lover in your life.

Sometimes, the Ace of Cups will also appear as an advantage when there is a potential for development. Your feelings are growing, as are other people who are involved in this situation. While not everyone is head over heels in love, it is heading that way.

Finally, the Ace of Cups is a fertility card. While the Tarot is no substitute for medical advice, there are diviners who believe that it is good luck to receive the Ace of Cups when you are worried about your ability to conceive. The Ace of Cups can predict pregnancy.
