Future Tarot Meanings: Ten of Wands

The meaning of the Ten of Wands Tarot card is that it symbolizes burdens. The Ten of Wands is the card of hard work. When this card makes an appearance in a Tarot reading, you can be assured that there is much work to be done.

The Ten of Wands usually pops up in outcome or future positions. If this is the case for your reading, it means that, in the future, you’re going to have to put a lot of effort into whatever you’re reading about, more than you are currently.

Down the line, you’ll have to decide if you’re going to knuckle down and complete the challenge or throw in the towel when it gets too much. The Ten of Wands isn’t telling you what you’ll do; it only serves as a warning that things are about to get very difficult.

The Ten of Wands shows up when you have a lot on your plate. You may be struggling with juggling work, family, and business obligations. You go to bed at night thinking about the mountain of things you have to accomplish the next day. It is not surprising that you’re feeling overwhelmed.

You should take better care of yourself as stress-related illnesses have a way of appearing as the Ten of Wands. Although it is good to work hard, be sure to practice self-care and do ‘you’ now and then.

I often see the Ten of Wands with new parents, and this is a possible interpretation if childbirth and pregnancy are indicated. It is likely that you have not taken to parenthood as easily as they previously thought you would. The sleepless nights and added responsibility could be getting to you.

Other times the Ten of Wands is associated with trying to get business plans or work projects off the ground. I often see the Ten of Wands for business people. It can feel as though you’re pushing and pushing with no end in sight.

The design of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck implies that there is hope to be found with the Ten of Wands. In the distance of the struggling figure, we can see a nice cozy environment. To remain committed, you must remind yourself that you’re working hard for a reason. The Ten of Wands is a sign that you’re pushing towards the life you want.

Ten of Wands Love Tarot Meaning

The Ten of Wands appears in love Tarot readings when the partnership brings you nothing but stress and burdens. You may love your partner, but the Ten of Wands warns that you will have to carry the weight for them in the future. You will be the one who takes care of everything and may even have to be the main breadwinner in the household (if your partnership gets that far).

The Ten of Wands can come up when you feel as though you’re the only one fighting for the relationship. Usually, the Ten of Wands marks the beginning of a painful ending. If your relationship is ending (or you want to know if it will), I have written a more detailed outcome for my Love Tarot Meanings e-book.

Ten of Wands Feelings Tarot Meaning

If you’re wondering what your partner’s feelings are towards you, then Ten of Wands means that there are some there, but they are not overly positive. The relationship seems to be too stressful for your lover to deal with and communicating with you has become burdensome. There is also the possibility that you’re too clingy and don’t give them enough space.

Ten of Wands Future Tarot Meaning

The Ten of Wands in a future or outcome position of a Tarot card spread is a sign that you are going to have to put in a lot of work and effort in the future. Although things are going to be hard for you, the end will be in-sight. Sometimes you may not feel as though you’re getting anywhere, but this is not the case. Keep moving, keep pushing now, and in the future. You will eventually get your brighter tomorrow.

Ten of Wands Business & Career Tarot Meaning

For business and career orientated Tarot readings, the Ten of Wands is a typical card to see. Your career is difficult, and sometimes you can feel as though you’re putting in all of this effort and not seeing much return; the energy of these feelings is embodied in the Ten of Wands.

Tarot is advising you to realistically assess your business priorities and look at where you’re wasting your time, energy, and money. Have you been giving out too many freebies? Have you been posting your ads in Facebook groups to crickets? Have you surveyed your target market to see if they even want what you’re providing? It is time to set down with a pen and paper before your naive approach destroys your company.

The Ten of Wands can be a sign that you struggle with willpower and commitment. You’re never going to feel like doing something 100% of the time, and the Ten of Wands is telling you that you must push through these emotions and get to work anyway. Hard work will pay off, but only if you do the grafting.

Ten of Wands Yes or No Tarot Meaning

General - Because it doesn’t promise that you will or will not get the job done, the Ten of Wands is a neutral card meaning neither a definite yes or a definite no.

Do they like me? - They feel as though you are a lot of hard work. This person feels as though having a relationship with you is/will be difficult.

Am I pregnant? - I would not interpret the Ten of Wands as a pregnancy card as I feel that it means that conception is going to be a challenge.

Is this relationship going to last? - It seems as though fighting for the survival of this relationship is going to be a lot of work.

Does the future of this look promising? - The foreseeable future of this matter is going to be promising

Am I going to reconcile with my ex? - No, your ex is not coming back for the foreseeable future, but that does not mean that reconciliation will not happen in the more distant future. For now, get them out of your head. Live your life for you.

Ten of Wands as a Negative, Weakness or Blockage

When the Ten of Wands appears in a negative, weakness, or obstacle Tarot spread position, this means that you will give up because the effort you need to put in will become too much work. You are too stressed to keep going.

However, although it is a card of heavy burdens, the Ten of Wands is a sign that you should not give up. If you keep pushing ahead, everything will work out for you. So, even if the Ten of Wands appears as a blockage, I recommend that you keep trying to hit your goals because eventually, you will be successful.

Ten of Wands as a Positive, Strength or Advantage

When the Ten of Wands appears in a positive, strength or advantage Tarot spread position, this means that you are persistent. You work demonically hard to get the things you want. Nothing can stop you from achieving your goals. You can put effort in areas where other people would not consider investing in. Therefore, have the Ten of Wands in a good position is a good sign as it means that you’ll work until you see success.
