The Sun is often a family card, so is a positive omen if this is something you aspire to. Marriage, children, pets and babies are all within the Sun. Fertility will be at an all time high so if this is something you’re worried about The Sun tells you that all is not as bad as it seems. Family holidays and trips abroad to warmer climate also look possible with The Sun.

The Sun often appears in Tarot readings when you have been working extremely hard for very little reward. Your time will soon come to an end if this card is in your future. Hard work and sacrifices will pay off and The Sun often predicts recognition for effort put in. Similarly, The Sun warns if you don’t do the work, you won’t get the rewards. The Sun and all of the good things it promises should nudge you in the right direction.

There will be times when The Sun appears in a negative spread or position in a Tarot reading. The Sun is bright and can blind us to the truth. You could be so wrapped up in the good parts of a situation, project or relationship you are failing to see all that it wrong with it.  Another possibility, is that you are never happy with anything you have achieved.

The Sun's Historical Meaning

Like many of the Major Arcana, the pre-modern meaning of The Sun card has remained the same. The Sun represents happiness, joy and a good family life.

The Sun in a Love Reading

The Sun doesn't need much explanation as it is pretty straight forward. The card predicts a positive outcome for your relationship; for the foreseeable future it is solid. Marriage and children might even be indicated.

If you're questioning the intentions of your partner, do not worry. Their feelings towards you are filled with love and care. They are committed to you, so try not to push them away!

Less likely, but still possible, The Sun can predict visits to a hot country with your lover. These trips could be holidays or something more permanent like emigration. If you're single, The Sun can mean that your future partner will come from an exotic location.

The Sun in a Business Reading

The Sun is one of the best cards you can get for a business reading; it's also one of the most straight forward. It predicts that this will be your time to shine. Your hard work will eventually pay off and you can bask in your success. You should remain optimistic.

An alternative interpretation is that The Sun predicts success in a country which is not your own. Perhaps you'll sell your products online? Maybe there's a market for what you're providing in a different country and The Sun represents you discovering a golden opportunity for overseas expansion.

The Sun as a Yes or No

The Sun is one of those few cards which is always a yes.

The Sun in a Positive Reading

In a positive reading, The Sun can predict;

- Marriage

- Happy relationships

- Happy family

- Trips abroad

- Help with health and fertility

The Sun in a Negative Reading

In a more negative reading or spread position, The Sun can predict;

- You’re blind to the truth

- You overlook the negative

- You’re naïve

- You don’t look for what can go wrong

- Discontent with what you have
